The queen of everything wraps up her TV show today.  I  I now know the truth.

(Don’t worry,  just because the talk show ends, she isn’t going away.  There’s the OWN TV network, O Magazine, Oprah .com and her satellite radio show.)

Oprah calls James Frey out for lying

James Frey wrote “A Million Little Pieces,” a memoir of addiction. Winfrey made it a Book Club selection in 2005, had Frey on the show and the book’s sales climbed into the millions.

In early 2006, Frey returned to address the claims that parts of his memoir were fabricated. He admitted to exaggerating parts of the book – Winfrey flat-out called it lying – and it looks, at times, as if she is barely controlling her anger.

In May 2011 Winfrey interviewed Frey again, this time apologizing for the way she treated him in the 2006 interview.

The wagon of fat

During an episode in 1988, Winfrey wheeled out a wagon loaded with 67 lbs. of fat to represent the 67 lbs. she’d lost on a liquid protein diet.  Winfrey, whose weight has fluctuated over the years, said she considers that episode her “biggest, fattest” mistake.

“You get a car!”

In 2004, “The Wildest Dreams Season” started big when Winfrey gave everyone in her audience a new Pontiac G6. After giving each member of the audience a box and telling all the people there only one box had a key to a new car, each person was surprised – shocked and ecstatic, really – to open the box and see a key to a car.

Tom Cruise jumps on the sofa

On May 23, 2005, Tom Cruise was a guest on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” You know what happened: He jumped up and down on the sofa while professing his love for Katie Holmes.

Nearly three years later, Winfrey visited Cruise in his Colorado home. No jumping.

Oprah launches the Book Club

In 1996, Winfrey launched “Oprah’s Book Club.” The first book was “The Deep End of the Ocean” by Jacquelyn Mitchard. The last books, selected in 2010, are classics by Charles Dickens, “A Tale of Two Cities” and “Great Expectations.”

Frey’s “A Million Little Pieces” was one of Winfrey’s Book Club selections. She experienced a milder controversy in 2001 when Jonathan Franzen expressed ambivalence over his novel “The Corrections” being chosen for the Book Club. Winfrey also put Franzen’s next novel, “Freedom,” on her list.

Oprah reveals she was abused sexually when she was a child

In 1986, Winfrey told her audience that she was raped by a relative when she was 9.

Ellen DeGeneres talks openly about being gay

DeGeneres came out publicly in 1997 and talked about the controversy surrounding her decision with Winfrey. (In an April 1997 episode of DeGeneres’ sitcom, “Ellen,” her character came out. Winfrey played the therapist she comes out to on the show.)

It may seem like no big deal now, but in 1997 there was a lot of controversy surrounding DeGeneres’ decision to come out publicly and Winfrey’s decision to support her.

Mackenzie Phillips talks about her incestuous relationship with her father

In 2009, Phillips, daughter of The Mamas and the Papas’ John Phillips and star of the sitcom “One Day at a Time,” revealed her 10-year sexual relationship with him and talked about her years of drug and alcohol abuse.

“I was old enough to know better,” said an emotional Phillips. “I can’t explain this away. It happened.”

Oprah interviews Michael Jackson

Before all the allegations of child abuse, Winfrey interviewed Jackson in February 1993. It was Jackson’s first interview first interview in 14 years. Winfrey compared going to Neverland Ranch to approaching the wizard in “The Wizard of Oz.”

Brett Favre is now “officially” retired.  What’s this guy’s deal?  He’s playing that game that some couples play where they break up, then get back together, then break up, then get back together…Seriously, the rest of the world just wants a final answer!!!  Most of them don’t care what it is, just make up your mind!

Oprah finally addressed the unauthorized book Kitty Kelley wrote about her yesterday. She was presenting an award to her BFF Gail King at The New York Women in Communications Matrix Awards. She brushed over the book saying that Gayle has struggled more the accusations that she has, especially the part about Kitty knowing Oprah’s real father. She says a bunch of new daddies are calling and saying, ”Hello daughter, call me, I need a new roof”. She says that she isn’t worried about it and it will pass.
Big news for Sex and the City fans! So don’t listen if you don’t want a potential spoiler! The movie doesn’t come out until May 27th but details are being leaked. In the sequel, Carrie and Big’s marriage isn’t going well and she goes on a trip to Dubai with the girls where she runs into…Aidan. John Corbett who plays Aidan says that his character may or may not be married but there is definitely something between then 2 of them and Carrie’s marriage is on the rocks.
Snookie is single! Snookie broke up with Emilio because she realized he was just using her to get famous. She caught him writing facebook messages to girls at 3am asking them out. He also posted pictures with girls all over him. Snookie says she has too much self-respect for that and ended it. Interestingly, Snookie also found out that Emilio has been auditioning for MTV’s newest season of the Real World.

Oprah’s retiring…or is she? Though she’s finished with her daytime talk show next year, she has started her OWN network and just announced plans to star in one of the shows. It’s a revealing new docu-series taking viewers for the first time ever behind the scenes of the ‘Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah will introduce us to the Harpo family. The show is called, Behind The Scenes: The Oprah Show Final Season. “Oprah’s next chapter” is another nightly show she will be hosting that features her interviewing people from around the world.
Charlie Sheen is back to his old ways. Though he’s been in rehab, he was spotted in a weird disguise with another woman. The other woman is actually an escort named Angelina Tracey and he has been paying her to hang out with him recently. Charlie’s publicist is trying to say that Angelina is someone that Charlie is just mentoring, however Charlie’s wife Brooke is so furious after seeing the photos of him in a fake moustache hanging out with Angelina. Sources say that though Charlie is in rehab, he drives out everyday and still hasn’t kicked his cocaine habit.
Kate Hudson went under the knife! She has always claimed to be fond of her flat-chestedness since it allows her to wear plunging necklines without looking scandalous, but that all changed a couple weeks ago. Kate went under the knife at the end of March and got herself breast implants. She was spotted in a bikini on vacation a couple days ago looking much fuller up top.

Everything you know about Oprah is about to come crashing down, if you believe what’s written in the book. It’s kinda hard not to believe her own family members that were interviewed for the juicy story. You know how Oprah’s always referring to her impoverished childhood? Well her cousin Katherine says that is completely made up. She says that she has asked her why she tells such lies about growing up poor and Oprah has told her that it’s what people want to hear and the truth is boring. Apparently there was also a relationship between Oprah and Diane Sawyer. Oprah staffers say that the pair spent hours on late night phone calls and sent each other diamond toe rings. Vernon Winfrey, the man who raised Oprah, calls Gayle King a “dirt hog” and “street heifer” who ruined their relationship.
Leighton Meester and another girl’s man? I’m not talking about Kellie’s boyfriend Gabe but Kristin Stewart’s! That’s right, Robert Pattison was caught entering Leighton’s NYC apartment and not leaving until the following day. Someone who spotted him says that he ducked out of the building and hopped into a waiting car. “He spent the night with Leighton, and didn’t want anyone to know! She’s having a texting romance with him, and is so into it. She talks with Rob almost daily.”
Things aren’t going Nicolette Sheridan’s way. Last week she filed a 20 million dollar law suit against Desperate Housewives producer Marc Cherry saying he hit her and made set conditions unfair. The other stars haven’t said anything to the media YET but that all changed yesterday. Eva Longoria Parker, Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman issued a joint statement yesterday pledging their support for Marc Cherry! They said it would be irresponsible for the public to view their show in the wrong light and they have no knowledge of what happened to Nicolette and the set was never hostile.

5.  On the day a new tell-all biography hits the shelves, the “National Enquirer” is reporting that Oprah’s world is crumbling. She has kicked her longtime boyfriend Stedman Graham out and moved her best best friend Gayle King in. Sources say Oprah is finally deciding that it’s time to put her own happiness first and even though she won’t admit it in public, in private she’s telling friends she’d rather live with the woman who’s her soul mate rather than a man she’ll never marry. In fact, one source says Oprah’s wanted to do this for a long time, but she was worried her fans would turn on her and her career would be destroyed. But she came to realize that if she didn’t lvie her life to the fullest, then what’s the point?

4.  Things aren’t looking to good for the “Footloose” remake. First Zac Efron declined the lead role of Ren because — after all those “High School Musical” movies — he was afraid of being typecast. So Chace Crawford was hired to take the part. Since then, they’ve lost their director and switched scripts, and now to make things worse, Chace has pulled out of the movie. His reps are saying it’s because Chace is simply too busy shooting “Gossip Girl” to find time to film a movie, but why aren’t they just honest with us for once? You know good and well the reason Chace dropped out of “Footloose” is because the boy can’t dance and he can’t be taught how. Now Paramount says they’re thinking about casting an unknown to play Ren and may launch a nationwide search to fill the part.

3.  Ronnie and Sammi are officially back together. Before filming began on season two of “Jersey Shore,” Ronnie was telling everybody he was going to “sleep with anything.” But apparently, the moment filming began, he and Sammi realized they were in love again. But wouldn’t you know it…the two of them are already fighting. Sources say they just had a huge fight inside a nightclub that actually let them in, and Sammi ended up stomping out. Hopefully they can work things out.

2.  Rihanna threw a party for her best friend Melissa last night inside an LA mansion, and reportedly everyone who is anyone was there. But a source at the party says some gang members tried to crash the party and were told they couldn’t get in. They’re weren’t about to leave without a fight and the cops were called. But nobody ended up hurt or arrested.
1.  Bret Michaels tried to ignore the pain before his performance at Sea World in San Antonio. All day Sunday, Bret was suffering terrible stomach pains — he thought it was a bad case of the flu. But he’s a showman and knew that the show must go on. But the pain became too much and he ended up being rushed to the hospital where doctors diagnosed him with acute appendicitis. Bret ended up undergoing an emergency appendectomy at 1:00 in the morning. Bret is still in the hospital and he’s recovering well. Unfortunately, he’s going to have to cancel some of his tour dates this month, but those will be rescheduled when he’s able to get back up on stage.

5. Kate Gosselin might not last too much longer on “Dancing with the Stars,” but that’s okay. She’s got a lot lined up when she hangs up her dancing shows. TLC has announced two projects starring Kate — several “Kate Plus 8″ specials, which is basically the new and improved version of “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” and “Twist of Kate.” This new show will have Kate responding to letters from her fans who are dealing with their own stressful life situations. Kate will visit their homes and basically walk a mile in their shoes, meeting their families and doing their jobs, and then offer advice and insight where she can. Meantime, Jon Gosselin has filed legal papers asking a judge to expand his physical custody and to reduce his child support payments.

4. Oprah is giving up one talk show for another. “Oprah’s Next Chapter” will be an hour-long nighttime show that will air on her new OWN network. It will free her from the confines of her studio and follow her as she travels around the world, having conversations with people from all walks of life. OWN goes on the air on January first in approximately 80 million homes. Other shows in the OWN lineup include “Visionaries: Inside the Creative Mind,” which already has Lady Gaga, will.i.am, and James Cameron on deck. Oprah’s BFF gets her own show, “Gayle King Live!” and so does Shania Twain. She calls her show “Why Not?” and it follows her as she tries to relaunch her country music career. OWN also announced the launch of “Your Own Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star.” Oprah is teaming up with “Survivor” producer Mark Burnett on a national search to find the next big TV host. Details will be announced on Oprah’s daytime show in May.

3. It’s been rumored that Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner are dating, but now there’s a picture to prove it! Avril and Brody were cruising around Hollywood in a souped-up ‘68 Dodge Charger R/T 440 and they had to stop for a bit behind a Hollywood tour bus. They thought that’d be a good time to make out, only they didn’t realize paparazzi had been following them. Or maybe they did? 2. Courtney Love agreed to let Universal Pictures do a movie about her late husband Kurt Cobain, but with a buttload of conditions. She has to approve of the director, the actors, the screenplay and the music. Robert Pattinson is dying to play the part, so he’s been using his British charm to get her blessing. And after several phone calls and emails, Courtney says Robert is her number one choice to play Kurt.
1. “Jersey Shore” has been shooting its second season in Miami, and things are going as smoothly as everyone would like. The cast can’t go anywhere without being mobbed by fans and paparazzi. In fact, when they went out the other night, they needed a police escort and extra security wherever they go. And now the top clubs in town are denying them access because the club owners don’t want to deal with all the trouble that comes with an appearance by the cast of “Jersey Shore.” A source says lots of places in South Beach aren’t letting them in, and they’re getting refused by restaurants all over the place. MTV says even though the first part of season two starts in Miami, the cast will return to the Jersey Shore to complete the season “once the boardwalk heats back up.”

5. Rielle Hunter was torn between Oprah, Barbara and Diane, but in the end, John Edwards’ mistress and baby mama has picked Oprah for her first TV interview. Rielle is inviting Oprah into her home in Charlotte for an interview that will air during May sweeps. A source says Rielle is super excited to tell her side of the story about her affair with John and she wants to clear the air about those scandalous “GQ” pictures where she’s posing seductively on her daughter’s bed. It turns out John is the one who encouraged Rielle to do the “GQ” interview and also to go on Oprah. He wants the world to see her in a different light, and not like the home wrecker she’s been portrayed.

4. Nicollette Sheridan has filed a $20 million lawsuit against the man who created “Desperate Housewives.” Nicollette claims Marc Cherry created a hostile work environment and behaved in an “extremely abusive and aggressive manner.” She claims that in the summer of ‘08, she tried to meet with Marc privately to discuss how he’d been treating her. She says he apologized, but after that, things only got worse. Nicollette says within just a couple of months, when she questioned Marc about something that was in the script, he took her aside and knocked her up side the head. She was humiliated and yelled back at him, “That is not okay!!” Marc followed her to her trailer and begged forgiveness. Nicollette reported him to ABC, but she says, believe it or not, his behavior got even worse. And then a couple months later, she was told her character was being killed off the show. She claims it was in retaliation for her complaints, so she’s suing.

3. One British tabloid is reporting that Rihanna is getting married. Or at least she WILL be once her boyfriend Matt Kemp finds the right time to propose. But when he does, the “Daily Mail” says they just know Rihanna will say yes. But even if that’s the case, any potential wedding would have to wait until after she’s done with her summer tour. It was just announced that Rihanna will hit the road for her “Last Girl On Earth” tour, with her opening act Ke$ha and a rapper named Nicki Minaj. The tour will kick off July 2 in Seattle and wrap up August 24 in Chicago. Tickets go on sale Friday.

2.  Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato aren’t worried about keeping their relationship under wraps even one little bit. The two of them went grocery shopping together in Hollywood on Saturday and other shoppers and some photographers caught them hugging and smooching and giggling and googly-eying each other. The next day, Joe and Demi went to the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills for the Easter buffet, and other people brunching there say the two of them could barely keep their hands off each other. Also brunching were Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle, and Nick Jonas and……..awwwwwwww…….

1.  Why hasn’t Sandra Bullock filed for divorce yet? RadarOnline is reporting that it’s because she’s worried that Jesse James might spill her secrets. But what kind of secrets can Sandra possibly have?? But a source close to the situation says the main reason Sandra hasn’t filed any papers yet is because she doesn’t want to trigger Jesse into attacking her publicly. She’s afraid he’ll want revenge and try to harm her reputation. His erratic behavior has been pretty obvious. First he checked into rehab and then when Sandra wouldn’t call him, he checked out after less than a week. Then he turned around and checked himself back in. And now to make things even worse, RadarOnline says they’ve found out that Jesse has more than a dozen homemade sex tapes with his mistresses, and that most of the tapes feature massive amounts of Nazi paraphernalia.

5. Did you know that Lady Gaga wrote “Telephone” for Britney Spears?? But Britney turned it down and Gaga turned it into a duet for her and Beyonce. But Gaga hasn’t given up. She apparently loves Britney as much as I do and wants to do a duet with Britney as soon as the Monster Ball tour wraps up.

4. Jake Pavelka’s ex-girlfriend says he’s already cheated on Vienna. The woman wishes to remain anonymous for now, but she did give an interview to a some morning show DJ — once she was promised that her voice would be disguised. See….this is where I start to wonder if this woman’s for real or not. Once you get morning DJs involved, there’s no telling. But apparently this woman is going to reveal herself soon, so I guess that’s when we’ll see if she’s the real deal. Anyway, she claims that she and Jake were seeing each other before he left to do “The Bachelor,” and that he was just going to do the show to further his acting career. She says that the day after Jake proposed to Vienna and taping on “The Bachelor” ended, Jake was on the phone with her, telling her he still loved her. She says Jake claimed that the producers of the show forced him to propose to Vienna and that she meant nothing to him.  But Jake and Vienna are sure putting on a good show. She’s moving to LA to be with him as he prepares for “Dancing With The Stars.”

3. Jessica Simpson was on Oprah yesterday to promote her upcoming VH1 show, “The Price of Beauty.” She says after a year of being beaten up for her weight, she’s absolutely comfortable with her body. She says, “I love my curves. I’m not going to ever be size 0, and I don’t want to weigh 90 pounds.” She told Oprah that those infamous mom jeans she wore during the chili cookoff concert were a size 4, and that the biggest she’s ever been is a size 6. (Although one source says Jessica confided to a friend last year that she was upset because she was up to an 8…) Jessica told Oprah she was disappointed with John Mayer for discussing their sex life with “Playboy” magazine. She said, “It was really discouraging because that’s not the John that I knew.” Jessica says he did apologize, but she doesn’t accept it. She says “I don’t resent him. I’m just going to let that go. That part of my life is over.”

2. RadarOnline is reporting that Elin Woods has agreed to move home with Tiger. As of right now, she’s still living in a rental about a mile away from the home they shared until Thanksgiving. A source says that Wednesday, Tiger and Elin were at their home together for about 3 hours and that at one point, Tiger leaned over and kissed Elin on the cheek and they hugged. During that conversation, she agreed to come home, and he’s hoping that will happen this weekend. So… Does this mean he’s already done with therapy in Arizona? One week did the trick? Did I miss something?

1. Lil Wayne STILL hasn’t gone to prison. He was originally supposed to go in February 9, but because he needed some dental work, the judge allowed him to wait until this past Tuesday. So Lil Wayne was ready to show up Tuesday for sentencing and then head straight to Rikers for a year, but a basement fire shut down Manhattan Criminal Court. So instead of going to prison on Tuesday, Lil Wayne went to Madison Square Garden and jumped up on stage with Jay-Z. Afterward, he stopped by the premiere party for “Brooklyn’s Finest.” A source says Lil Wayne showed up with a posse of six, but security wouldn’t let him in. He pitched a fit until one of the movie’s publicists stepped in and let Lil Wayne and his friends inside. Lil Wayne was all ready to head to court yesterday, but at the last minute, court officials announced the courthouse needed to be closed for repairs. So now Lil Wayne doesn’t have to turn himself in until Monday.
