They announced this week that all of the Star Wars films are going to be remade in 3D.
Other than lining George Lucas’ pockets once again, it will introduce the movies to a whole new generation. I think there has to be more to it though. Lets look at the pros and cons of seeing Star Wars in 3D.
CONS
- Jabba The Hut will be even grosser in your face.
- We have to witness Jar Jar Binks on screen again.
- We have to suffer through each the prequels (starting in 2012) before seeing the good ones.
- Some say you lose a bit of color vividness with 3D. Maybe that means the Ewoks will fade into the background. (Also a potential pro)
- Luke Skywalker’s hand being chopped off may be extra traumatic if it goes flying in your face.
PROS
- Princess Leia’s metal slave suit in 3D.
- The Death Star is really gonna blow up in your face.
- Princess Leia’s metal slave suit in 3D.
- Yoda may actually levitate audience members watching the movie.
- Princess Leia’s metal slave suit in 3D.
